“Budget ICICI card at ₹500 with surprising perks — lounge access, movie discounts, milestones, and railway lounges. However, the ₹75K/quarter spend gate for domestic airport lounge (increased from ₹5K in 2024!) effectively prices out most users of a ₹500 card. BookMyShow also now requires ₹25K/quarter spend from Jan 2026 — another spend gate that reduces value for light spenders. Railway lounge (4/year, no spend gate) is the most accessible benefit. Milestones start at ₹2L (vs Sapphiro's ₹4L) but max at 10K RP (₹2,500) vs Sapphiro's 20K RP (₹5K). Same RP structure as Platinum Chip (2/1 per ₹100) but adds milestone RP. Same monthly caps and HPCL fuel restriction as Platinum Chip. RuPay variant gets ₹2L PA insurance and 24/7 concierge — not available on Visa/MC. Fee waiver at ₹1.5L is very achievable. Good mid-ground between the free Platinum Chip and the premium Sapphiro.”
